On May 15, 2006, Natalie Novak, a 20-year-old student at Ryerson University in Toronto, was murdered in an act of domestic violence.
Since then, Natalie's parents Dawn & Ed Novak have worked tirelessly to bring to light the circumstances that led to her—in hindsight—predictable and preventable death. The Natalie Novak Fund is dedicated to providing current, research-based information regarding relationship violence, to students, the general public and professionals who support victims of relationship violence.
"Creating an educational video seemed the natural next step. The audience needed to meet Natalie, first through the words and memories of her friends and family and secondly through family photos that chronicle the passage of her life. Launching the video, If Only … Natalie’s Story, in 2010 has resulted in my ability to reach thousands of people. "

The Town of Bracebridge and the Natalie Novak Fund are working together to commemorate victims of domestic homicide with purple benches. Three benches will be installed in the spring of 2020. The NNF is currently raising funds to support this community project.
In our ongoing effort to educate and bring knowledge and awareness of relationship violence to the public, The Natalie Novak Fund wants to bring Barb’s Benches to Muskoka. Currently the NNF is raising funds to sponsor three purple benches in our community to commemorate and remember three women who lost their lives through domestic homicide.
